Birthday music bingo

How do you make music bingo for a birthday party? Put the birthday person’s favourite songs in a Spotify playlist, paste the link and pick the Birthday theme. You download unique cards as an A4 PDF, with a separate guide for the host. 1 to 9 cards are free.
From playlist to birthday bingo in three steps
Build the playlist
In Spotify, collect the songs that belong to the birthday person: hits from the year they were born, holiday songs, the first-dance song. A 5×5 card needs at least 24; 40 to 50 gives more variety.
Design the card
Paste the link into the generator and pick the Birthday theme. Add your own title above the card, such as the name and age, and put a photo in the centre square if you like.
Print and play
Download the PDF and print on A4. Along with the cards you get a host sheet with the rules, a checklist and a QR code to the playlist.
1 to 9 cards are free, with no account or email address. For bigger groups you pick a pack; you see the price before you pay.
Which songs suit a birthday party?
Birthday bingo works best when everyone at the table knows some of the songs. So mix generations and make it personal.
- Hits from the year they were born, and from the years they turned 18 and 30
- Singalongs that grandparents and children both know
- Songs with a story: the wedding song, the holiday hit, the club anthem
- A few guilty pleasures, good for a laugh at the table
- Avoid two versions of the same song; it causes arguments when marking cards
Tips for the host
- Play 20 to 30 seconds of each song; the chorus is enough.
- Play the first round for a full line and the last for a full card. That gives you two winners.
- For the personal songs, say briefly why they are on the list. It makes the game theirs.
- Have pens or markers ready and print a few spare cards for late guests.

Questions about birthday bingo
How many cards do I need?
One card per player, or one per pair if you play in teams. Up to 9 cards cost nothing. For bigger parties you pick a pack, starting at 20 cards.
Can I put a photo of the birthday person on the card?
Yes. With a 5×5 or 7×7 grid you can place an image in the free centre square. Above the card you can add your own title and subtitle.
Does it work with children?
Yes, if you pick songs they know and use a smaller grid. A 4×4 card has 16 squares and fills up faster.
