From 80s playlist to bingo card
Choose your playlist
Use an existing 80s list or put one together yourself. Make sure it only has songs your guests recognise from the intro or chorus.
Pick the Retro theme
Paste the link, choose the Retro theme and decide whether players see the title, the artist or both on the card. Artist only makes it harder.
Print and press play
Download the PDF, print on A4 and put the playlist on shuffle. The host sheet has a checklist for checking the winning card.
1 to 9 cards are free, with no account or email address. For bigger groups you pick a pack; you see the price before you pay.
Which 80s songs work best?
The 80s are full of intros you recognise within two seconds. Pick as many of those as you can.
- Synth-pop with an unmistakable intro, such as “Take On Me” and “Sweet Dreams”
- Stadium rock to shout along to: “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “The Final Countdown”
- Dance-floor classics such as “Billie Jean” and “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”
- The local chart hits of the decade that your guests grew up with
- Film music of the time: “Footloose”, “Ghostbusters” and “Eye of the Tiger”
Tips for an 80s night
- Play the intro and stop before the title is sung; it keeps the tension up.
- Make it a themed party: whoever comes dressed up gets first pick of the cards.
- Play one round for a full line and one for the four corners, for variety.
- Mixed ages? Put both title and artist on the card; it helps younger players.

Questions about 80s music bingo
Does bingomaken supply the playlist?
No. You use your own or a public Spotify playlist. bingomaken makes the cards and the host guide; you play the music yourself.
How many songs can my playlist have?
For 5×5 you need at least 24. From a Spotify playlist we read the first 100 songs, which is plenty for one evening.
Can I mix the 80s and the 90s?
Yes. Put both decades in one playlist. The cards then carry songs from across the whole list.
